Here we go then.

It is a week until Christmas day.

On Wednesday, do something mundane.  clean all toilets and bathrooms, not forgetting the mirrors, and make sure you have enough toiletries in, bath smellies, to escape for a relaxing bath, and essentials like toilet paper.

Also, if you are having guests to stay prepare the room they will be in, if it is available now to do so.  Does the bed need changing, are there clean towels ready?

Give it a dust and hoover, and close the door.

I'm recruiting the services of my kids who are back from uni - I leave a list of jobs when I go to work (with their name by the job or they try to delegate it to one of the others).
The kitchen and living room got done today and they made a start on the washing that they bought back from uni Very Happy

(I made them a nice lasagne with VERY fresh beef when I got home Very Happy )

Last year we had a houseful for days on end.  The house looked beautiful, think no dust, muddles tidied away, festive adornments everywhere.  By the end of boxing day i was on my knees with exhaustion even though it was lovely at the time.

this year  i have done next to nothing apart from making the tree pretty.

and, i refuse to get in a tiz about it.  life is too short.

We don't expect a houseful but a house this size gets mucky and cluttered very quickly. I don't want to have to do a major clear, which I hate, would rather do a little and keep on top of it so that's my plan for the future!
Today Greenlady and I did E's room which took a while, we've tried to reorganise it so she can manage some of it herself. Coco and I did the utility and back door this evening, it's where the dogs sleep and the shoes go so it was pretty mucky.
I also got my own room sorted, it had been neglected and ended up quite a major job. Mr Kathy and I have a sitting area and coal fire in there so I like to keep it reasonable. So much for my day off............................

Bathrooms tomorrow!

i might sweep the floors

don't know

if i have the time

and the inclination

at least while the weather stays dry it means less pawprints

but the staff don't take off their wellies when they walk through to wash their hands so i despair really of ever being clean for any length of time......

my house is not my own
