I'll rewrite the first few rows, tell me if it makes it any clearer.   Cast on 120 stitches Row 1: knit 2 purl 2 all the way to the end (rib) Row 2: knit 2 purl 2 rib all the way along then stop before you knit the last 2 stitches and turn your work. Row 3: Slip 1, knit 1, purl 2, place a stitch marker then  knit 2 purl 2 rib and stop before you work the last 2 stitches, turn your work.
