Thats it folks half the year has gone, 2008 is half used up!!!! What have you done in half a year? Does it feel like half a year has gone???
Nope doesn't feel like that here, just every year gallops past and it gets harder to do all the jobs I used to do with ease!
Lots going on here today so can't hang about. Another Uni visit tomorrow off to Warwick!! Hubby finishes work today for 10 days, he gets all silly when hes in 'Holiday Mode'

Oh Libby - we can't really be half a year through already can we?
We went to visit our friend last night who'd had a car accident - he's pretty beaten up, but coping well. His arm is in a sling for a month (broken collarbone) and his face looks like he's done a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson. Apparently his was the FOURTH car that the person had hit on that journey...he was doing 60 and she was doing, they reckon, about 120 Any road, I'm glad to say that he's going to be OK, luckily.
Today I've been swimming and now am at my desk for the day. We're off out for a meal tonight ('cos it's pay day!) so no decorating for me today...
Have a great day everyone _________________ http://www.pennycottage.co.uk

Enjoy your meal Jellycat and Libby, enjoy your hubby's holiday!
What on earth was happening with the person who hit all those cars Jellycat.
I've been up since 6 and have done all the tidying and scrubbed the kitchen sink.
Just going to pot on my peppers and basil now. I've had an idea for a weaving project so I want to start that and I also need to hoe round the veg and cover the strawbs, they're nearly ripe now.
Have a good day everyone. |

No idea, but I'm very sorry that a friend of mine was in her way.... _________________ http://www.pennycottage.co.uk

Ive actually sat down for 5 mins.
Weekend flew by
Yesterday I taught at RDA then dashed to my friends farm where thwy had 12 senior school children visiting. They were having a taster day at carriage driving. I was the covering first aider so I got to have a days lesson at carriage driving and grooming with their lovely bay cobs and two shetlands.
Then on to sailing so the girls are wacked.
Our Swiss student is lovely, a real credit to her parents talking to OH last night in the car she said she is missing her family but would love to stay on here with our family. Gave me a proud moment. |

TGM - that's so sweet about the student!
Kathy - your strawbs really show the difference in climate up there to down here - we've been having strawbs for nearly a month!
JC - I really just don't understand some people. Hope your friend recovers soon.
Libby - half a year??? time just flies.
It's too hot today. it's 25C in the living room (where we are right now).
We were going to go out this morning. Nothing exciting, just to get him weighed. But he was really fussy, so we didn't. Thought it might be teeth. But I think it's more likely that it's a development spurt. He's walking more and more now, although he still uses crawling as he main means of transport!
Can't get much done today as he won't let me out of his sight! _________________ Aqui, T and Baby Jack!

Rode Samson today, I think he is a bit better. Mum's visitors are here along with their dog, it's nice to see them again.

Hello,
We don,t seem to have stopped the last few days. We have been playing catch up at the allotment, the weeds have played havoc whilst we,ve been away.We have been eating raspberries, salads, radishes, charlotte potatoes and peas. Boy do we have peas!we have putabout 20lbs in the freezer, its a bit of a chore, but its good to have some for the winter.
All our residents are glad to see us back, our reliefs do a good job, but they all say that they feel "safe"when we are home.
Tom and Jens little cottage is looking lovely, they have been in since the weekend.Barrie and I are now home alone for the first time in 24years, weird!Ican tell the difference in the laundry, I,ve not had the washing machine on everyday.
The lady who rents our little house in town has given us a months notice, and we need to find another tenant.(We live in a house that goes with our job).If the housing market wasn,t so dodgy, we had thought about selling the house, buying a camper van, and banking the rest.We would like to do some travelling about. We will have to see what happens.
Back to the pea mountain!
Catch up later. |
