My husbands sister lives in Cape Town! We have been out quite a few times.

To test out a new machine, I would make something simple like an apron. That way you get to know the basics.

Hello Lindsay *waves*

May I recommend that if you have not been on a machine for a while, to buy some gingham fabric, because it is easy to follow the lines for cutting out and then sewing the seams.

There are a couple of free apron patterns on the 'net and then how about a shopping bag, again quite simple and loads of patterns on the web.

Just get stuck in and it will all come together as it clicks into place.

Good Luck   Very Happy
