Does old dog pee pose any health threat to J? (other than being gross)
Previous owners had dogs. There are patches on the carpet in his playroom. I didn't realise they were there as the carpet is dark. He pulled up the carpet and then I saw them on the underlay.
So annoying as I only found out yesterday that I could actually leave him in there by himself! Won't be able to do that again until it's been redecorated and recarpeted. _________________ Aqui, T and Baby Jack!
Does it stink of dog pee - probably not if you hadn't noticed. Perhaps they had the carpets cleaned.
If it will be a while before you can have the room decorated and carpet replaced, and if you are concerned you could just clean the carpet yourself to put your mind at rest.
It would be a shame not to let him play in there.
I no longer have a dog, but when my children were small we had a dog and a cat, and very occasionally you get an 'accident' with a pet - and a child too!
I always washed and cleaned the 'patches' and there were no ill effects. _________________ Lottie the Allotment Lady
either do what lottie suggests or what we would do and rung a cloth with some neat milton over the spot and that will deoderise and clean it as well....
White vinegar works as well. My lot were bought up with animals having "accidents" from both ends, they're all pretty robust specimens now!
Same here! I do think people are sometimes TOO clean. We all need to build up our anti-bodies and keeping kids away from 'dirt' tends to make them 'more' susceptible to nasties!
