plnch punch , first of the month !
good morning all, I`m still getting over flu, and now have a dreadful cough. Sophie has it aswell.
I cant wait for next saturday, I dont usually watch football, but for those of you who do, the little village where I was born and grew up is playing Norwich  !!!  and its being televised on itv !   I used to go and watch them with my dad when I was small, and I can remember going to away games on the players coach.  This is a home game aswell, so I`m hoping they`ll show some of the village on there. They`re expecting a lot of people from Norwich, and have even asked villagers if they can supply bed and breakfast !     Whenever anyone asked me where I came from and I said Paulton, no one had ever heard of it, but now they`ll know where it is !
my dad has been supporting them since he was about 25, and he`s now 84, so nearly 60 yrs, the only thing is he cant actually go and watch them anymore, as he cant stand for too long.
I just hope they beat Norwich    Very Happy  Very Happy
 have a good day everyone

rwr, I do hope you get better soon   Sad

Gosh you very rarely see me at a computer at the weekend and especially not at this time on a Sunday   Shocked

DH is away with TA, DD is at her BF's, so I am all be myself   Sad

Did managed to get the ducks and chickens up in the dry, however I managed that, I do not know, was dressed ready for a soaking, however the rain stopped as I stepped out of the door and started again as Hannah (dog) and I stepped back in doors   Very Happy   Poor chickens are in and out of their warm house like jack-in-the-boxes, dodging the very heavy down falls.   Sad

I am going to watch an old B&W film that I recorded a couple of weeks ago and do some knitting.   Wink

Stay dry everyone and have a lovely day  Very Happy

Its like a monsoon here, really glad we did the pond yesterday! Pics on my blog!
Think I will light the Rayburn, as the washbasket was empty Friday it is now overflowing and I will need to dry it all, fortunately the temps for this week are going down!
Other than that some housework and I may make some Date & Banana Chutney!

Husband and eldest set off for the lake this morning but was really glad to receive a phone call to say they were on their way home and no racing today as it was 30 mile an hour winds with gusts of 40miles an hour, bearing in mind eldest is still only 10.......

We have been away for half term, a friend at RDA decided she was going to adopt my girls as their grandma because they haven't got any, and she gave us the key for her caravan. It is 3/4hr drive away, in the sand dunes on a Haven site so the girls spent the week in a pool and had a great time. I was walking on egg shells as this caravan is only 5 months old with 3 bedrooms and was immaculate.

Well many loads of washing done, and ironing, home work and shopping including flowers and thank you letters.

hello all

very early for me isn't it?

happily a really quiet day today after the last hectic days...mainly due of course to the foul weatherthat we woke up to, spent the day with and probably will have until tomorrow though there have been a few blue patches every now and again.

so i invoked the housewives perogative and stayed in, the dogs weren't interested in going outside anyway so after a quick whizz round the goat stable i went inside and did housework which is the thing i try to keep for days like this...

that took till nearly lunchtime (much needed though) and i then started putting together my mincemeat, i know i am late but at least it will be steeping tonight before i do the rest of the biz with it tomorrow..

also managed to make a cake that i think i have probably messed up because i didn't realise the oven was on "auto" which went off while i was out with the dogs about 3 duriing a blue patch of sky....

tomorrow i am going to try to get an appointment with the nurse in the village to get my ear syringed....i have been listening to myself for over a week now and it is time to sort the problem out...Tuesday the groom is back, mr nanny is day off so he will geton with paper work uninterrupted ...he is very much behind with it all due to having nobody else here and so many things going on...don't know about the rest of the week but i am sure things will develop..

they normally do somehow...

Evening all  Very Happy

I'm typing this on our new laptop!  It's quite a basic one, but it's nice to be sitting in front of the fire instead of shivering in the dining room!

The weather was glorious yesterday but today, we had monsoon conditions as well, and we went to Durham (about 50 miles down the A1) in horizontal rain and LOTS of spray from the other traffic ... nasty!  However, we were there to visit #3 son and it was lovely to see him, so it was worth it.  Now we're watching Countryfile, which is from our part of the world tonight, and then The X Factor  Embarassed  Laughing
