O.K. so why doesn't it say in the recipe books:

"Don't try making your first ever batch of marmalade in the middle of a heatwave"

Well is didn't in mine but anyway M******** had a load of grapefruit in the cheapie bin yesterday so I just had to have a go...

Lovely rich colour
Peel is cooked nicely & is spread through the jar
A little runnier than I would like at the moment

Thanks for your donations, I've finally got round to getting the form filled in and sent away, with a cheque for £40. I'll post pics of the certificate once it arrives.  Smile
Chicken ( different recipes)
We eat alot of chicken and I do like to try different recipes, most of mine are based on healthy eating so feel free to swap to mayo or something similar.

CORONATION CHICKEN

I use any left over chicken or you can cook some in water with curry powder added. Chop into bitesize pieces.
Use lowfat fromage frais, stir in some curry powder and 1 tbspn mango chutney to taste, mix together.

It's absolutely boiling here - not a breath of wind and almost sunny!  Apparently, the route I took with the dogs yesterday (and today) is Not Approved Of by the gamekeeper - something to do with pheasants I think.  Our landlady asked yesterday if anyone had told me not to walk along there but I said I'd carry on until someone did!  She said that was fine with her... I never bother with it but oldest daughter insists, likes her clothes to "smell nice" and doesn't like plain fresh air! Rolling Eyes Methinks she's a bit of a cuckoo in the nest, I never bought her up with fabric softeners!  Laughing
Anyway, I found the following recipe and she loves it, better than the "real thing" she says.

1 cup of bicarbonate of soda (cheap as chips in Chinese supermarkets)
1 cup of white distilled vinegar
