I decided this morning that I feel as though I have been on maternity leave.
I went off sick with my ankle and have had an unplanned pregnancy which is my woolly business. After some early new-parent type worries, the baby is starting to grow and develop, and is now so interesting, work is just a side issue and life will never be the same again.
But can I afford to be a stay-at-home-mum?
Judging by the way your business is taking off - of course you will.
You will save money in lots of different areas, petrol, clothes, convenience food, you will get rid of stress, find happiness and contentment and once you are back to full fitness your life will take off in a totally different way to the rigid hours, and timetable that work often imposes on us.
Can't think of anything better - as I have found out since I retired. You think that you can never manage on less money - but you can, believe me. _________________ Lottie the Allotment Lady
At least your business will hopefully be causing flow of money in the right direction, unlike most babies... So that should hopefully make it easier!
I hope you can work it out to not have to go back to your previous job, but I guess you have to sit and think seriously about the figures involved. If it came to it, would it actually be possible to continue working on the business, although less than at the moment, whilst doing your old job? Or is that an impossibility? If you could, maybe it would be possible to get it developed a little further before relying on it alone.
On the other hand, I have no relevant experience to talk from here. So good luck! _________________ *All* tiles now up in the bathroom! A bit of grouting to go and it'll be a finished room
I will go back, probably in 2 weeks although possibly part time to start with for a week or two. I've got lots of holidays to take as well so I can hopefully transition from one to the other.
I'd be happy to work part time, but I think this has proved to me that I can make a bit of a living doing something else too, so I'd have a balance between security and creativity.
It depends how the next few weeks go really.
I put a pink yarn on the site as a fundraiser for breast cancer research and I spent this afternoon dyeing the 17 skeins I need to fulfil the orders from today and yesterday! I've now run out of pink dye!
