No tiles today, we didn't put up the battening yesterday so I can start on the left wall (a two man job). I'm doing a kitchen unit instead.
Hehe, you've just reminded me that I boiled the kettle when I had breakfast, but still haven't had the cup of tea! _________________ *All* tiles now up in the bathroom! A bit of grouting to go and it'll be a finished room
aqui I'm sure you know this already but just incase...if you get extra loft insulation put in have a look for government subsidies, our flat in guildford cost us next to nothing to get thicker loft insulation put in.
Oh - I didn't actually know that. I thought that was only for OAPs and people on benefit. Mum and dad said there's was about £200, which isn't a huge amount, but still it could pay for a lot of babygrows! (I was going to say nappies, but we will be using reusuables, of course... which reminds me something I need to look up!)
Is it true that everyone in the UK is entitled to subsidised insulation?
Yes, everyone is entitled to a subsidy and some people can even have free installation. Why? Because the UK Government is obligated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2010 as part of the Kyoto Protocol. One of the easiest ways to achieve a large reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is through increased home energy efficiency. The Government has stated that cavity wall insulation and loft insulation are the most effective methods which is why they have legislated for power/energy utilities and power companies to provide subsidies.
