I need to make an infusion in oil of calendula petals for my nappy rash cream/baby soap.

How?

I was going to use almond oil and I have the dried petals. What next?

HERBAL INFUSION

Put the petals/herbs in oil then heat gently in bain marie or heat proof bowl over pan of water for 2 to 3 hrs. You can strain or leave petals in depending on what you use it for. For a stonger infusion, strain then put more petals in and repeat the heating.

I make one by standing the petals in oil on a sunny windowsill and shake every few days.

Not terribly practical this time of year, sorry Rolling Eyes

Thanks Kathy!

Two to three hours - that's something to do at the weekend then. (Otherwise if I do it when T's not about, I'll have to stick postits everywhere, or I will forget!)

CP - I'll try that in the summer.
