Hello
many years ago, I went to lace making classes. I didnt realise till I had been going there for months, that my teacher was teaching us differently to the norm.
Apparently, people normally lift and drop the bobbins, whereas she taught us to pick up the 4 bobbins and swap positions in our hands and then put them down.
I briefly dabbled with lace making a while back, but think I had more fun spangling the bobbins than the actual lacemaking. I was taught by the aunt of a friend, and she picked them up, then laid them back down, so that's how I did it. I know I'd get terribley tangled if I tried arranging them in my hands
Have to say I normally just pick up and drop the bobbins into place, I guess swapping them in your hands would eventually be faster, but takes a bit more dexterity.
I'd say try both, do what you prefer really. Might try the swapping technique myself next time though _________________ *All* tiles now up in the bathroom! A bit of grouting to go and it'll be a finished room
