Has anyone had acupuncture? I'm starting a course on Monday (for my shoulder, which the physiotherapist is now saying is RSI) and I've never had it before.

She says I may find the pain gets worse, temporarily, or it my improve immediately.

And that I might feel a bit light-headed, like I've had a couple of gins... Laughing

So I don't really know what to expect...anyone got any clues, or does it affect different people in different ways?

I'm quite looking forward to it - I'd much rather that than my current state of rattling-with-painkillers....

I have had quite a lot of acupuncture. You must make sure that you have eaten something before you have it - very important or you could feel light headed or even faint. I used to eat a banana before the appointment if it was one between meal times.

It all depends too on which points they put the needles in - there are so many permutations - from the acupuncturist to the symptons of the patient - so unfortunately you can't predict the outcome.

I never feel it useful to describe one's own experiences in such cases - as with all injuries or ailments - no two are the same.

Go with positive thoughts, follow any guidance you get to the letter - and you have the best chance then of a successful outcome.

Best wishes

That's more or less what I thought...

My appointment's at 9.00am and I normally wouldn't have had anything to eat by that time of day, so I'll have to remember to bring some breakfast to work as well as lunch!

I'm full of positive thoughts about it - quite literally anything is better than the current state of affairs Very Happy
