Lovely memories Svea.
I remember the scent of my "inherited grandad", pipesmoke, firewood, cowpoo and freshair.
The sense of smell is incredibly powerful, apparently one of the last to go. |

I lived with my Gran till I was five, my mum went back to work after having me. my gran lived in a tiny 2 up 2 down cottage. it had flagstone floors with the rag rugs that she made, in the kitchen there was a boiler to wash the clothes, and a cooker and a table and stone sink.
I can still remember her putting the chairs up on the table to sweep the floor. she had a lovely garden with lots of lupins.
she taught me to knit, sew and crochet, she died in 1973 when she was 89. _________________ Lyn |

Lovely story RWR, I still miss my Gran who also taught me to knit, amongst other things. |
