Does anyone else get this? I treated myself today, cos I was feeling yuck - and was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by a quilt featured in an article. (It's the Nov. issue by the way). The quilt is called Mother Earth and Her Children, and is wonderful. Reminds me a bit of those lovely Brambly Hedge books I used to read to my girls (and still have by the way). Makes me want to make something so good . . . I've just found a link:

Oh WOW, I love that, are you going to try something like it?
I started to do a bit of quilting but ended up getting lost in weaving, I'd love to do more though, I've a stash of cloth awaiting me! There's a quilter's do on this Saturday nearby to me so I might go along.

Well, I prefer to make things by hand, so this sort of thing is just up my street. I've done small projects like this in the past, and also when I had my quilting business, when G was a baby, I designed a New Forest quilt (had a commission to make one) - a friend sewed it up (G was a baby then) and I did the embellishments - insects, flowers, cobwebs, caterpillars and things over it. The lady loved it and said she kept finding new "embellishments". I'd love to do a wall hanging . . .
