She really likes the name Apothecary so putting something in front it is a good idea, no one would have Greenlady I'm sure!
Because she is registered with NIMH (National Institute of Medical Herbalists) she's not allowed to be seen to have connections with witchcraft, paganism (you're right Jellycat) etc so I'm afraid she can't use those words.
Thanks again, what a great bunch you are. |

My hubby and I are presently starting an online herbal supply in Canada. I find it interesting what you said about "Not being able to have connections with witchcraft, paganism". In Canada that would Religious Discrimination and we could kick up a real stink over it. That would be much along the same lines of a Chinese Herbalist not being able to be associated with Buddism...anyways..did you settle on a name yet? We settled on www.herbalcraft.ca but it won't be up until late November.
I'll do a formal introduction when I get more time..just came across your forums while googling and joined because I wanted to respond to this post. Had a chance to browse your site and it is wonderful! I've added it to my favorites and hope to stop by often..
Well met.

Well things are getting up and running now. I keep getting turfed off the PC, Greenlady frantically doing projections and forecasts and the like!
For now she has decided on Cas an Uain Herbals for her name. She has her business account set up and is off to the business gateway today with all her plans to see what grants and loans are available. She wants to build a seperate bit beside the house for the tinctures, rules of NIMH, they have to be locked up, have a sink etc. It would be a wooden structure so planning should be ok and the Laird is fine with the idea in principle.
Oh, and she already has some clients, doing home visits, which is proving to be popular.
RedAutumnRain I'm just going to have a look around your site, good luck with it all. |

It's an ancient Scottish wound healing plant, Kidney Vetch. Her plan is to grow herbs native to Scotland and this is one of the lesser known names so unlikely to be anyone with the same name. |
