make sure you get out at lunchtime when you're at wotk. get some of the daylight, even if it isn't sunny.

eat healthy, as Kathy says - keep up your energy levels with slow release complex carbs, rather than getting a sugar rush. bananas are great and also boost the seratonin levels.

november is the worst month for me. i usualy quite like january - it was always the start of the growing season as i'd sow my tomatoes, peppers etc then, which got me looking forward positively to the summer.

kathy - is seaweed a calcium supplement? i'm after a natural calcium supplement now i'm dairy free - although i also have fortified rice milk.

Yes I use it for that too Aqui, it's a bit of a "miracle" food really, we don't make enough of our seaweed.  Smile

That's interesting Kathy, I didn't realise it was a calcium supplement.

This is the info about it. Smile

Spirulina is a blue-green algae that grows in warm, tropical, alkaline waters all around the world. The ancient Aztecs of Mexico used spirulina as an important food staple to balance out their diets. Today, spirulina is considered one of the most highly nutritional protein supplements available.

Spirulina is roughly 65-71% complete protein and an excellent source of amino acids, including methionine and l-lysine. Specifically, spirulina contains calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, chlorophyll, vitamin E, vitamin A and B vitamins.

Spirulina strengthens the body, providing essential nutrients that are typically depleted when the body is weak, for example, during and after illnesses or chronic diseases. Spirulina has been used as a blood purifier and artery cleanser, and it may be used to stimulate the thyroid, increasing energy levels, and to detoxify the kidneys and liver.

Spirulina also helps suppress the appetite and may be used to treat eating disorders and assist with weight loss programs.

Spirulina is easily digestible and a valued food source for vegetarians.

It doesn't supress mine at all Aqui! What I'm presuming it means is that when you eat food that doesn't give the nutrients you need you just feel hungry again very quickly, it's the body trying to get the nourishment it needs. If you're properly nourished it won't affect your appetite, if you know what I mean!  Smile

Actually I've just been goggling and it seems it's not recommended to take when breastfeeding anyway - not enough studies done and possibly too much mercury. oh well...

sorry for hijacking the thread!

Oh well, perhaps something to think about later when you're not feeding anymore. E gets a daily dose too as her diet is pretty restricted, we worry about her getting the proper nutrients.  Smile
