Correct me if I'm wrong but I would have thought any soup that doesn't have fat or too much carbs in it would be ok. The tomato soup, dry frying the onion and without cows milk (rice milk ok) wouldn't have many calories I don't think. Using vegetable stock instead of meat stock too I think?
I'm sure there's someone here who knows more about the calorie thing than me! Because I've almost stopped eating bread (avoiding yeast) I eat soup most days made with veg and veg stock, the weight is coming off without too much effort on my part.  Smile

I cook the veg in a little water rather than oil. Use lots of veg. no meat. Add beans or lentils instead for protein. plus what kathy said.

If you've not already done so, have a look at the recipe index as there are a lot of soup recipes hidden here.

just don't look at the baking section!

I make vast quantities of soup when I'm cooking at the Art Centre. Because we have so many customers with various allergies, they are always fat and dairy free and vegetarian. Any good mix of vegetables, and usually thickened with lentils, lots of herbs for flavour, and some veggie bouillon. No complaints yet! I never put in salt as I feel that in can be added to taste.
My personal fave is Jerusalem Artichoke. Bit windy though!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I make roasted garlic and butternut squash soup, you roast the butternut squash, so its much easier, you only have to cut it in half, and then scoop out the middle when its cooked.
I also make carrot soup, and cream of celery
