Poor you!  When I hear about all these price rises I thank my lucky stars that we don't have gas...can you complain?

They do this I'm afraid. If they think your monthly payments are not going to cover it or their prices have gone up.

I thouhgt any company had to give you 14 days notice of any change to a direct debit.   Confused

Lucky we have a credit showing on our account so I am hoping that our bills won't go up   Rolling Eyes   But our water did go down £4 a month this time   Very Happy

How did we do that; well DD with her very long hair would stay in the shower far to long ... for the second time the shower leaked into the garage big time, water every where and we could only think it was partly down to her ... so without actually saying to much she got the hint   Wink   Then we showed her the change in the bill and treated her to the pictures, showing the benefits of saving money in one place and the fun of spending the saving on good things   Very Happy

What a brilliant idea Dragonfly - I must remember that for when the grandbabies are older...

British gas are the worst company I've ever come across as a supplier RWR.

Have a look here and get rid of them, you now have loads of choice and don't need to stay with them. http://www.uswitch.com/?ref=ppcgo...;gclid=CPqom_ahiJUCFQNrMAodXWs1qw

Sorry can't help as we have no gas Rolling Eyes

but

Hubby refuses to pay monthly direct debits, instead he pays amounts, similar to DD for all our bills, TV licence, telephone, internet, water, electric, coal etc etc into a 'Bills' account where it gains interest and then he pays the bill when it comes in, so we benefit by getting the interest and they dont!! It also means you tend to watch your bills a bit more closely!

Another good idea Libby, and one I'd like to do too.  However, what really makes me spitting mad, is companies like BT who charge more if you don't pay by DD ...  what if I didn't have a bank account...?

Grrrrr  Evil or Very Mad
