I've noticed that people are now having this on their posts,
do Google pay for this or is it something to be aware of as the more links you have the more nasties (viruses & trojuns) you can get as the more links you are connected to the more chance you stand...
On the other hand if Google were to pay me enough I would happily advertise them...

It's all part of keeping the forum software free for users - the Google ads effectively pay for it. The ads can appear more or less anywhere on the site, so they can be inserted at the bottom of any of our posts. We can pay to get them taken off (I think last I heard it was £30 for a year) but they don't appear to be too much of an issue.
They're supposed to be context sensitive, so they match the ad to the text of the post - it can be quite a giggle sometimes to see them pick up on one word rather than the meaning of the whole topic  _________________ When I married Mr. Right, I didn't realise his first name was Always ... |

Thanks Lizzie, at least its nothing more menacing & if it keeps things free they are a good idea
