I've just finished reading the news. Hopefully it will mean that more allotments will spring up. If the council think it can make a bit of money from renting out pieces of land I'm sure they'll look seriously at providing more?

Managed to get to the front of the queue in just over two months, but my mead stocks are seriously depleted! Good old folk magic! Laughing

I have a friend who is desperate for an allotment and has been looking at the River Cottage site where folks are posting land that is available, or wants for land.  Think alot of it is people with large areas of garden or land and just don't have the time to use it so are offering it to others to dig and grow, think its a great idea, I hope it takes off, there must be so much land which is unused to its full potential Very Happy

Ive been on our waiting list over a year now and the National Trust have just handed over the running to the allotments committee. The deadline for re-newed interest is 16th of this month so keep your fingers crossed for me that everyone else has given up on the idea.
