So, the latest nursery rhyme to get kicked into touch because it may just upset someone
is
Hympty Dumpty.
In the news last week:-
Apparantly children become distressed that all the kings horses and all the kings men can't put Humpty together again.
Hence...
Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the kings horses and all the kings men
Put Humpty together
And made him happy again.
We wonder why youngsters assume that happiness is the normal state of affairs and anything less is not acceptable |

I would have thought it would have given the children more nightmares trying to work out how the kings horses managed to help the kings men to do it .
Perhaps there's somethings about horses that we just don't know although I'm sure Nanny would have told us by now...
But
Was the wall risk assessed properly before Humpty Dumpty sat on it...
And
Did he have the correct No Win No Fee Accident Claim Advice after the afforesaid accident...
Or
Was he pushed ? _________________ the luxuries of civilisation satisfy only those wants which they themselves create...

Well Sparhawk as far as I know the Nursery Rhyme book you had was full of very unpolitically correct rhymes, but you knew most of them & I still think they were OK for you & your brothers.
More worrying is the fact that Noddys golliwog friends were not invited to his party this week. |

Somewhere, I have a book about the origins of various nursery rhymes and some of them are pretty gruesome - never did me any harm _________________ When I married Mr. Right, I didn't realise his first name was Always ... |

Do you think ‘ring a ring a roses’ will be band as swine flu takes hold of us over the winter |

More than likely. It's gone too far.
I'm a perfectly well rounded adult.
I think...... _________________ The Card Bee

oh for goodness sake
when my girls where at school, they started those stupid non-competitive sports days, now they are saying they have to be competitive as the world is!!!
I think alot of 'I told you so's' are being said!! _________________ "If we reduce the amount of stuff we allow to accumulate in our lives, we won't have to organise it"
