So, the latest nursery rhyme to get kicked into touch because it may just upset someone
is
Hympty Dumpty.

In the news last week:-

Apparantly children become distressed that all the kings horses and all the kings men can't put Humpty together again.

Hence...

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the kings horses and all the kings men
Put Humpty together
And made him happy again.

We wonder why youngsters assume that happiness is the normal state of affairs and anything less is not acceptable  Rolling Eyes

I would have thought it would have given the children more nightmares trying to work out how the kings horses managed to help the kings men to do it  Shocked .

Perhaps there's somethings about horses that we just don't know although I'm sure Nanny would have told us by now...

But

Was the wall risk assessed properly before Humpty Dumpty sat on it...

And

Did he have the correct No Win No Fee Accident Claim Advice after the afforesaid accident...

Or

Was he pushed ?

Well Sparhawk as far as I know the Nursery Rhyme book you had was full of very unpolitically correct rhymes, but you knew most of them & I still think they were OK for you & your brothers.

More worrying is the fact that Noddys golliwog friends were not invited to his party this week.   Laughing

Rolling Eyes

Somewhere, I have a book about the origins of various nursery rhymes and some of them are pretty gruesome - never did me any harm  Laughing

Do you think ‘ring a ring a roses’ will be band as swine flu takes hold of us over the winter   Confused

More than likely. It's gone too far.

I'm a perfectly well rounded adult.

I think......
